An Introduction to Western Moral Philosophy
About the book
Designed for an international readership, this book combines an examination of critical thinking with an account of key philosophers in the moral tradition, presented not as authorities to be followed blindly but as thinkers whose insights no later philosopher can ignore. Based on first-year university lectures given in Canada and Cambridge, it invites readers beyond the introductory level in three areas: the relationship between philosophy and religion, the question of free will, and the author's own proposal for a moral philosophy.
